What is an audiologist and what do they do?
An audiologist is a Doctor of Audiology who diagnoses and treats hearing loss, tinnitus, balance disorders, and sound sensitivity. At Elevate Audiology, our audiologists test your hearing, fit and program hearing aids, treat tinnitus with FDA-approved therapies like Lenire, evaluate auditory processing in children and adults, and remove earwax safely. Learn more about what an audiologist does.
How do I know if I need a hearing test?
If you ask people to repeat themselves, turn up the TV louder than others want, struggle to follow conversations in restaurants, hear ringing in your ears, or feel exhausted after social events, those are common signs of hearing loss. Adults over 50 should have a baseline hearing test even without symptoms. We offer comprehensive evaluations called the Elevate Hearing Pathway at both Easley and Greenville offices.
How much do hearing aids cost?
Hearing aids at Elevate Audiology range from about $1,800 to $7,200 per pair depending on the technology level, features such as Bluetooth and rechargeable batteries, and how much support and follow-up care is included. We work with seven leading manufacturers and offer financing through CareCredit. Every quote includes the device, professional fitting, real-ear verification, and follow-up care.
What is Lenire and does it actually work for tinnitus?
Lenire is an FDA-approved bimodal neuromodulation device that treats tinnitus by combining gentle sound with mild electrical stimulation on the tongue. In clinical trials, 83% of patients said they would recommend it. Dr. Alex Tarvin was the first provider in South Carolina certified to deliver Lenire. Treatment runs about 12 weeks with daily 30-60 minute sessions at home.
Do you treat Auditory Processing Disorder?
Yes. We offer comprehensive Auditory Processing Disorder (APD) evaluations for children ages 7 and up through adulthood, using the Bellis and Ferre model. APD is a condition where the ears hear normally but the brain struggles to process sound, often causing trouble following directions, focusing in noise, or reading. We also offer auditory training therapy to help patients improve over time.
Where are your offices located and what areas do you serve?

Is hearing loss linked to dementia and cognitive decline?
Yes. Research from Johns Hopkins and the Lancet Commission shows untreated hearing loss is one of the largest controllable risk factors for dementia. Treating hearing loss with properly fit hearing aids supports brain health, reduces social isolation, and protects long-term cognitive function. The earlier you treat it, the better the outcome.
